About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join a friendly team working from our Anglia region and based at our Beulieu Park site in Chelmsford on a fixed term basis.

Duties include:
 
  • Managing the members of the project team, including consultants effectively, providing advice and guidance as required.
  • Assisting the Technical Team in Development Programme preparation.
  • In conjunction with the Technical Team, brief, manage and drive the external Consultants in the preparations, issue and approval of construction information and sales/ conveyance information.
  • Act in line with culture of the team of improving upon targets, developing contingency plans, whilst maintaining open and honest feedback on performance of individual site strategies.
  • Attend site progress meetings such as monthly HA and PRS meetings and carry out site inspections.
  • Attend and lead on monthly Design Team Meetings.
  • Prepare updates on project progress on a fortnightly basis.
  • Review and produce development costs schedules on a monthly basis and agree action with Technical and Commercial Teams to allow accurate reporting to monthly CVR Meetings.
  • General liaison and co-ordination between other parties, both internal and external.
  • Responding to site queries and resolving technical and/or construction problems.
  • Reviewing value engineering and enhancement opportunities, focusing on show home delivery.
  • Coordinate third party designs and approvals along with the design team.
  • Monitor and manage NHBC conditions and discharge in line with project completion delivery.
  • Assisting in preparation of pre-construction Health and Safety information.
  • Produce Health and Safety files/Operation and O&M Manuals as required for PRS units. 

About You

  • Able to recognise problems and solve them in a positive, timely and cost effective manner;
  • Resilient, self-motivated and well organised;
  • Ability to work to deadlines, meet programmes and manage others;
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
  • Commercial awareness and accurate interpretation of design drawings;
  • Ability to work under own initiative is a key requirement;
  • Ability to apply forensic skills to unravel historic matters including supporting customer care issues;
