Living in Oxford
Oxford is a highly regarded and sought after place to live that has something for everyone, whether it’s families, young professionals or retirees. What’s more, our new homes in Oxford can provide you with the perfect setting for making the most of everything this historic and charming city has to offer.
To give you an insight into what living in Oxford is like, citizens will tell you how welcoming, lively and culturally important it is. It’s also home to a wealth of top schools, thriving industries, great commuter links and everything you need in terms of shops, entertainment and wider amenities.
While it’s also perhaps best known for its famous university, there are in fact plenty of other impressive landmarks and attractions to enjoy. From the Oxford Castle & Prison, to the Bodleian Library, Christ Church Cathedral and the old cobbled streets that are lined with stunning buildings that showcase the best in historical British architecture.
This isn’t to say the university doesn’t make its mark. While there’s the large student population that live in the city across its 40 colleges, this at the same time brings a variety of new cultures into the area, that simply adds to Oxford’s already vibrant aesthetic.
As well as the urban elements, you’ll get your fair share of green spaces to enjoy when living in our new homes in Oxford. Whether it’s picturesque gardens, meadows for pleasant walks and jogs, or bike rides alongside the River Thames (or The Isis as locals call it) or the Oxford Canal, you’re not short on options.
The Surrounding Area
The excellent abovementioned transport links mean you’ll have easy access to the surrounding areas of our new homes in Oxford. The M40 serves the city, connecting you to London and Birmingham, while there are direct rail links to most major cities and you can be in the capital in an hour. The city itself also has a strong transport infrastructure with superb bus, coach and cycling routes.
Oxfordshire itself is of course home to its own variety of delightful attractions. One example is Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there’s also plenty of incredible countryside to visit. Only a short journey away is the Cotswolds and the North Wessex Downs to name just a few examples. Plus there are quintessentially British towns and villages all within an hour’s drive including Chipping Norton, Bicester and Henley-on-Thames.
