Tilia Homes was
granted approval by South Somerset District Council in September to build an
attractive scheme of three-, four- and five-bedroom private homes, as well as 35%
affordable units for affordable rent and shared equity tenures, in a mix of one
and two bedroom apartments, and two and three bedroom houses. The mix of homes
will appeal to a wide range of purchasers, including first-time buyers, families,
and downsizers, and responds to local housing need.
Tilia Homes
marked this construction milestone with a ground-breaking ceremony, attended by
the housebuilder’s sales and marketing director, Emma Cotterill, area sales
manager, Samantha Lillington, and project manager, Jack Davis.
Once complete, Knights
Meadow will comprise of 70 homes, which will be accessed off the A357, and will
feature a mature tree-lined border to the rear with areas of green space and a
large pond. The scheme will also deliver a 0.5 hectare extension to the Abbas
and Templecombe CE Primary School playing field, as well as a play area and
youth shelter.
Emma Cotterill,
sales and marketing director at Tilia Homes Western, said: “The ground breaking
ceremony marks a major milestone for our Knights Meadow development and signals
the start of a new chapter for this site.
“Templecombe is a
prime location within Somerset, not only for its countryside surroundings, but
also ease of access to nearby cities including Exeter, Bristol and London. We’re looking forward to the official launch of the development
and showhome this summer and welcome any interested purchasers to register
their interest in the homes here.”
