About The Role

Aim of the role

To support the group finance team in managing daily accounting tasks in terms of maintaining accurate financial records and the smooth operation of accounting activities.

 Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles
  •  Enter financial transactions into internal databases
  •  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
  •  Assist in the preparation and maintenance of ledgers and journals
  •  Update cash books and perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis
  •  Perform specified balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis
  •  Assist in the preparation of financial statements for multiple entitie
  •  Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and/or source system records compared to the ledgers
  •  Assist in the preparation of group management accounts
  •  Assist in the preparation of financial statements for multiple entitie
  •  Provide support as required in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple entities e.g., Office for National Statics (ONS) reports
  •  Assist in preparing documentation for external and internal audits
  •  Provide necessary support during audit processes
  •  Support the group finance team with general finance tasks e.g., raising purchase orders, creating and posting recharge journals, raising internal cash transfers, raising working capital transfers, raising sales ledger invoices etc  
  •  Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes as required
  •  Respond to financial enquiries from senior management in a timely manner
  •  Perform other related duties as required 

About You

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA part-qualified, in training or willing to train
  •  1-2 years minimum of experience in a similar accounting role preferred
  •  Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and systems
  •  Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  •  Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Strong organisational and time-management skills
  •  Good communication and interpersonal skills
