About The Role

untypical is offering a fantastic 3-year fixed-term training opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual looking to build a career in finance. As a Trainee Management Accountant, you will gain hands-on experience within our busy Finance team while studying towards a professional qualification such as the AAT or CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, with full study support provided.

This role is ideal for someone looking to start a structured finance career path within the housebuilding industry and gain valuable insight into how financial decision-making supports business growth and operational success.

Duties will include:
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Help with the posting of journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Process transactional data and maintain financial records accurately
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information
  • Assist with audit preparation and year-end reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
  • Take on other ad-hoc duties and projects to support the wider Finance function

About You

  • Level 4 Mathemetics or equivalent
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting and finance
  • Willingness to study towards AAT or CIMA Certificate (or already enrolled)
  • Strong attention to detail
  •  Good communication and interpersonal skills
