About The Role

untypical is offering a fantastic 12/18 month fixed-term contract for an ambitious and motivated individual looking to build a career in IT. As a group data analyst you will be playing a key role in the businesses digital transformation, working to ensure data resides in a format which can be interrogated to support key business processes & management information reporting.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, with a keen eye for detail who wants to gain experience in how data can drive decision making & process efficiencies and could be based within commutable distance of any of our regions (Bury St. Edmunds, Bedford, Exeter, Solihull)

 Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work to understand the existing data structures in view of capturing fully the ‘as is’ state of data.
  • Collate all data into groups by category, i.e. what data/process route to Plot’s/Property.
  • Work alongside IT team to fully capture the businesses reporting requirements.
  • Work with the wider IT team to understand the systems which are hosting the data currently, and the mechanisms to access/extract the data.
  • Undertake training on the tools which will be used to extract/interrogate data.
  • Work with professional services team to engineer the data which will be presenting as part of digitalising business process.
  • Document your work throughout the data discovery & engineering phases.
  • Collaborate with wider IT team to transition into BAU.
  • Working with the wider IT team to ensure all analytical solutions adhere to data governance, security, and compliance standards.

About You

Essential:

  •  Data Handling & Querying
  • Proficiency in using scripting languages e.g. PowerShell to create, automate and enhance reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of using data analytical tools like Power BI
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g. SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Data cleaning and transformation
  • Finding pragmatic solutions to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities

 Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an IT or office environment
  • Familiar with the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with construction industry software (e.g. Coins, Asite, Hubspot)
