100% Mortgages

Could buying a home be closer than you think?

A zero deposit mortgage designed to help renters move onto the property ladder

Saving for a deposit can feel like one of the biggest challenges when buying a home. If you are currently renting, the Skipton Building Society Track Record Mortgage could help make that next step feel more achievable.

This 100% mortgage is a five year fixed rate product designed for renters who do not have a deposit saved. Instead of relying on a traditional deposit, the mortgage looks at your track record of paying rent and household bills.

It is designed to help make buying a home feel clearer, more manageable and within reach.

About the mortgage

The Skipton Building Society Track Record Mortgage is a zero-deposit mortgage designed to help eligible renters buy a home without needing a deposit.

For many people, monthly rent payments can already feel similar to mortgage payments. This mortgage is designed to recognise that by looking at your rental payment history instead of requiring a deposit up front.

Who could apply?

You could be eligible if:

  • You are a first time buyer
  • You can show a track record of paying rent and household bills, such as gas, electricity, water rates and council tax, for at least 12 consecutive months within the last 18 months
  • The same people who have been renting the property for the last 12 months are the same people applying for the mortgage
  • Your loan amount is no more than £600,000
  • You have not missed any payments on credit commitments, such as credit cards or loans, within the last six months
  • You are not purchasing a new build apartment
