A team of volunteers from Kier Living Eastern recently gave both Potton Town Cricket Club and community orchard a new makeover.
Ten enthusiastic Kier staff spent the morning painting the cricket club’s storage facility, scoreboard and shutters, as well as clearing the pavilion of litter and debris. In the afternoon they moved onto community orchard, where they helped clear up the edges, and weed, water, mulch and fit wire around the young trees.
The day of volunteering was part of Kier Living Eastern’s commitment to supporting the communities where it is building houses. A staple of the local community, the cricket club is also the home of Potton Football Club, along with a café, fitness studio and several tennis courts.
Kier Living Eastern managing director, Nick Moore, said: “We take every opportunity to get out and help local people and organisations where we build. We understand what the cricket club and orchard mean to the community and we wanted to contribute to improving the facilities. We are delighted to be able to freshen up the storage facility and scoreboard, whilst also help cultivate the orchard by planting new trees and clearing the surrounding area for easier access.”
Just next door to the cricket club, Kier Living Eastern is continuing to build their Tall Trees development, a collection of 2, 4 and 5 bedroom homes with prices starting from £270,000. These homes benefit from modern interior layouts and an impressive specification, together with excellent links to Bedford and Cambridge.
