When Helen and Mike Dawson began searching for a new home in North Yorkshire, they wanted the perfect location with green spaces galore and plenty of room within the new home for themselves, their eight-year-old son and their Border Terrier. The family fell in love with the lush and vibrant setting on offer at Hambleton Chase. 


Having previously lived in a new build property, the family were keen to buy new again and reap the benefits of being able to enjoy a modern, energy-efficient home with minimal maintenance required. This time around though, they wanted to find a home which offered more living space downstairs, a larger garden and access to a local parkland if possible.

Helen comments: “Hambleton Chase is a lovely walk away from the town of Easingwold which has a fabulous atmosphere with lots of coffee shops, pubs, parks, open spaces, activities and transport links into York. We loved the site plan and the plot we chose had a view over some green space and was set in such a way that we weren’t overlooked.”


Honing in on the Woodford house type gave the couple everything they wanted and more. Helen continues: “The layout worked for us really well. We could clearly visualise all being downstairs but able to enjoy our own space. Since moving in, we’ve created a playroom/TV room downstairs in what is classed as a study on the plans. This has enabled our little boy to still be close to us but have his independence and a space for when his friends come round.”


The Woodford property is the perfect four-bedroom, detached family home, complete with a detached double garage. Downstairs, alongside a separate dining room, study, utility and cloakroom, the spacious lounge and kitchen both feature French doors leading to a beautiful large rear garden, providing the Dawsons with plenty of space to exercise their spritely terrier. The family of three and their dog have now comfortably settled into their dream four-bedroom Woodford home. Whilst looking forward to their son being able to enjoy the brand-new park with his friends once completed, they are already enjoying life at Hambleton Chase. “We absolutely love everything,” Helen comments. “The space, the layout – and the plot position. We love feeding the bunnies and partridges on the green space beside our home; our little boy gets dressed for school every morning looking out of the landing window at the sun coming up on the bunnies. The whole package just works really well for us.”
