Student designs new showhome bedroom at Cashmere Park

Creative pupil has won first prize in a design competition and will see his winning bedroom brought to life at Tilia Homes’ new show home at Cashmere Park in South Molton.

Isaac Jimenez, a year 2 student at South Molton United C of E Primary School, created a space-inspired theme for the Design a Bedroom competition.

Isaac’s design consisted of a hanging solar system, a rocket shaped wardrobe and an outer space carpet mural, alongside various moon and star shaped accessories. The scheme gave interior designers Clayton & Co a lot of inspiration to work with to recreate the children’s bedroom at the soon-to be launched Cliveden Show Home.

Emma Cotterill, Sales and Marketing Director at Tilia Homes Western, said: “All of the entries we received were so imaginative and creative – it was clear all the children put a lot of thought and effort into their different themes. Choosing an overall winner was extremely difficult but we loved Isaac’s space scheme and we’re excited to see it re-created at the Cliveden Show Home.”

Isaac received a Kindle Fire for his winning design, alongside the winners from Key Stage 2 and Early Learners, Summer Allen and Mia Goidan-Carey. Whilst runners up enjoyed a mix of £50 and £25 amazon vouchers to spend on a treat for themselves.

Kate Harvey, Assistant Headteacher at South Molton United C of E Primary School, said: “Our school is extremely excited to be working in partnership with Tilia Homes. The ‘Design a Bedroom’ competition has been such a fantastic opportunity for our children to experience the world of interior design and homebuilding. For their ideas to come to life at the Show Home for all to see is so exciting. It is essential that children’s creativity and the role that they can have in their community is valued and recognised.”

Cashmere Park, located in Devon, South Molton, will have a fantastic selection of two, three and four bedroom homes available to families and first time buyers alike. For more information about the homes at Cashmere Park, visit www.tiliahomes.co.uk or call 01769 302 015
