The school’s Green Gang club received some fruit
trees, compost and a set of gardening tools, including spades and trowels.
Vicky Weston-Taylor, teacher assistant and
Green Gang leader at Deer Park Primary School said: “We are thrilled with this
kind donation from Tilia Homes. We really value our outdoor spaces at Deer
Park, which is why we set up our after-school gardening club, and the addition
of this new equipment is a great way to get the children more involved in
gardening and emphasise to them the importance of spending time outdoors. The
equipment will help provide our children with the ability to learn new skills,
have fun and develop self-confidence, and engage them with the school gardens
to create a more attractive environment for everyone to enjoy.”
Lizzie Burda, regional sales and marketing
director for Tilia Homes Central said: “At Tilia, we aim to create beautiful spaces not
only on our own developments, but also supporting the local community to do the
same. More now than ever, gardens play an important role in our sense of
wellbeing and help us to get outdoors and take in some fresh air. We hope this donation
of gardening equipment and trees will help encourage our local younger generation
to get involved and develop a passion for gardening. We’re delighted to be able
to support Deer Park Primary School and hope the children enjoy using the new
equipment.”
