Tilia Homes gets the green light for new homes in Beck Row

Tilia Homes has been given the green light for 60 high-quality new homes in Beck Row, situated to the North West of Mildenhall. Find out more here.

Tilia Homes’ planning application for 60 high-quality new homes in the village of Beck Row has been approved by West Suffolk Council.

The site, situated to the north west of Mildenhall, is in a prime location surrounded by local amenities, including a primary school and nursery, community centre, pubs and eateries, a convenience store and a church. The five-acre site was previously agricultural land and has been identified as an available site for future housing by the local council, with outline planning approval granted in July 2020.

Once complete, the development will include a collection of thoughtfully-designed two, three and four-bedroom homes and two-bedroom bungalows, with 30% of these allocated as affordable homes for rental and shared ownership tenures.

As well as new homes, Tilia will also provide over £500,000 to the local community via the section 106 agreement – including primary school and library provisions – and 0.9 acres of green open space. The homes at Beck Row will also become Tilia’s first site to be completely heated by air-source heat pumps, with electric vehicle charging points in every home too.

James Griffiths, head of planning at Tilia Homes Eastern, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for 60 new homes in Beck Row and look forward to delivering high-quality housing in such a desirable area, with a large number of amenities offering an ideal location for new residents. We’re really proud of the scheme we will be delivering here, ensuring that our methods of housebuilding evolve to become more sustainable – and we’re excited that this will be our first development to use heat pumps over gas central heating.

“We are aiming to break ground and start construction at the development in July, with the first properties due to be released for sale in January next year.”
