Woolpit pupils open new show homes at Kiln Grove

Pupils from Woolpit Primary Academy helped mark a major milestone in their village on Friday 21st November when they officially opened the new show homes at Kiln Grove – a new development by Tilia Homes, part of the untypical homebuilding group.

Six pupils, aged nine and ten, were the guests of honour at the event, cutting the ribbon alongside Tilia Homes’ team before enjoying a guided tour of the new homes – the three-bedroom Hartwood and Roman house types – followed by refreshments. Staff and suppliers involved in the construction of the development also joined the celebration.

Gareth Jacob, Regional Managing Director for untypical’s Eastern region, said:

“It was fantastic to welcome Woolpit Primary Academy to Kiln Grove and to see their excitement as they opened the new show homes. The pupils are part of this community, so it meant a lot to have them with us. Kiln Grove is all about creating a place where people feel connected, and involving the local school really brought that community spirit to life.”

Kiln Grove offers a collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £299,950. Located on the edge of Woolpit near Bury St Edmunds, the development forms part of a wider community being created by the untypical group, bringing together their two brands – Tilia Homes and Hopkins Homes - to create two distinct neighbourhoods ‘Kiln Grove’ and ‘The Elms’.

Earlier this year, the group jointly sponsored Woolpit Cricket Club with a £1,500 donation to enhance its facilities, further demonstrating its long-term support for local life in the village.

“The children had a wonderful time cutting the ribbon and exploring the show homes. It was a great opportunity for them to see how new homes are created and to learn what goes into building a community from the ground up. Thank you to Tilia Homes for involving us in such a special occasion.”

The new show homes are now open to the public, giving prospective buyers the opportunity to experience the design and craftsmanship that characterise a Tilia home.
