Town and countryside on your doorstep

Enjoy the best of both worlds

From first-timer buyers to ‘forever home’ searchers, Dukeswood is a new community for movers at every milestone. This collection of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes in the popular Hanwell Fields area of Banbury ticks every location box too, no matter how fussy you are.

Historic market town setting? Walking distance to a primary school and nature reserve? Just minutes from Banbury train station and the Cotswolds? Within an hour of Birmingham airport? Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick.

Even when you’re at home, the location doesn’t disappoint. An ambitious landscaping plan mirrors the local Oxfordshire countryside and provides residents with a verdant ‘green lung’, and the well-equipped play area becoming the focal point for families.

The natural environment is further prioritised by including an air source heat pump and an EV charging point to every home, as standard, while a site-wide network of hedgehog highways proves even the smallest of residents matter at Dukeswood.

Playgrounds, parks & the perfect Cotswolds

Pack a slice of Banbury cake and head out on an adventure, which starts closer to home than you could ever imagine. At the centre of Dukeswood is a new play area with inclusive equipment. Meet up, hang out and let friendships blossom.

Hanwell Brook Wetland is a great introduction to the local countryside and you can stroll there in less than 10 minutes. The site, together with Spiceball Park and the Mineral Railway Walk, form Wild Banbury: an initiative that encourages closer contact with the natural world. You can swap the countryside for canal-side by walking along the Oxford Canal towpath.

If honey-coloured stone and thatched roofs float your boat, travel less than 20 minutes to the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Celeb spot in Chipping Norton, visit Diddly Squat Farm Shop or invest in membership to Soho Farmhouse – the A-list favourite set in 100 acres of countryside.

To infinity and beyond

Dukeswood feels like the centre of the universe, with every type of destination close by. It’s possible to walk to shops and schools, while Banbury train station is a short drive away. From here London Marylebone is a little over an hour by rail.

Just over two miles from Dukeswood is junction 11 of the M40. Follow it south to London, through the pretty Chilterns National Landscape, or head North to Birmingham for its family-friendly attractions (just saying, Cadbury World is less than an hour from Dukeswood).

Spread your wings to their max by making the drive to Birmingham Airport. You’ll be checking in your suitcase in less than 45 minutes, when traffic is light.

Spoilt for shopping choice

It’s easy to shop for daily essentials in Banbury. The hard part is knowing where to start. Banbury Cross Retail Park and Banbury Gateway Shopping Park vie for your attention, with easy parking, a multitude of brands set over two sites and plenty of coffee shops if you start flagging.

If you prefer your shopping with a side of heritage, head to Banbury old town. The historic markets remain a regular feature, plus independent shops sit cheek-by-jowl with pubs, restaurants and cafés. Castle Quay shopping centre, together with Lock 29, ensure Banbury is an unrivalled retail destination but if you’re still wanting more, Bicester Village Designer Outlet is 30 mins by car.

Keeping it green, inside and out

Dukeswood is where you can sleep easy knowing you’re helping the environment by just living. Every home benefits from an air source heat pump for cleaner energy, lower fuel bills and reduced carbon emissions. Also as standard is an EV charging point: plug in and forget the cost of petrol.

You’ll be surrounded by more than 4,000 new trees, hedges and plants at Dukeswood, with a swaleand stormwater pond creating extra habitats for native wildlife. New footpaths help humans with navigation, while hedgehog highways create safe passageways for our prickly friends.
