Staffordshire land deal part of key expansion for Tilia Homes
Housebuilder Tilia Homes, part of the untypical group, has announced a land deal in Staffordshire that will deliver 99 new homes near Burton-upon-Trent.
The four-acre site at Branston Locks, in the village of Branston, forms part of the strategic expansion of Tilia Homes’ Central region. The new development will provide two, three and four-bedroom homes with 22 assigned as shared ownership, helping to meet demand for homes in the area.
Tom Heathcote, untypical’s Chief Development Officer, said: “Branston Locks will strengthen Tilia Homes’ foothold within the Midlands, supporting our ongoing efforts to enhance our visibility across the country.
“This land parcel comes with full planning consent and is exactly the kind of deal we are currently seeking. Construction will begin this summer as we commit to creating another new and thriving community.”
Savills acted on behalf of Crest Nicholson to bring the fully serviced parcel of land to market, which sits within its current development at Branston Locks.
Peter Gough, development director at Savills in Birmingham, comments: “We were really pleased to assist Crest Nicholson in the sale of this parcel of land at Branston Locks, which will deliver much-needed homes on one of the first large-scale urban extensions to be delivered in the UK. It has been great to work with Tilia Homes as they continue to embark on their journey to expand across the Midlands, and we are pleased that they chose Branston Locks as a location from which to do this.”
Tilia Homes’ ambition to expand its land pipeline follows the announcement last year that it had secured £125m in strategic sustainability-linked debt funding with HSBC UK and Homes England.
Amerjit Atwal, Regional Managing Director for Tilia Homes’ Central region, said: “Our ethos is to build the right homes, in the right areas, for the right price, and this new development fulfils that.
“It means that once again, we will be delivering quality, sustainable new homes in a development that has community living at its heart.”
Tilia Homes Central also reached an agreement to buy 9.5 acres on the northern edge of Banbury late last year, which will deliver 78 homes, ranging in size, with 30 per cent designated as affordable housing.
