Gillian enjoys new life chapter at Landimore Park

Gillian Earley is a retired accounts manager and chose to make The Knolls at Landimore Park her home following the sad and sudden death of her beloved husband, Michael John.

Here she explains how what could have been a very daunting prospect of starting a new chapter in a new home was exactly the right move for her…

“The decision to move house after my husband passed away wasn’t one I took lightly. I talked everything over with my family and, after I decided I wanted to move into a smaller house, I knew Tilia Homes’ Landimore Park was for me.

“The development is in a great location, close to my family and friends, and the property prices are reasonable. I also made use of some flexible financial initiatives, which allowed me to have flooring installed in my three-bedroom, semi-detached Coleridge home before I even got the keys, which was a huge help.

“I also took peace of mind from the Tilia Homes’ two-year guarantee, as well as the NHBC’s 10-year warranty. The build quality meant I could just move in and make the house my own without having to worry about any renovations. I’ve also noticed quite the difference in heating the house as it has modern insulation installed, so it’s cheaper to heat than I expected.”

As well as taking full advantage of the flexible financial initiatives available to Tilia Homes’ customers, Gill’s advice to others looking to make the move into a new build home is to really get to know the development team.

“I would recommend getting to know the people involved in your purchasing process – they’re the experts and do this every single day. Their knowledge is invaluable and no question is too small or silly for them to answer.”

Gill admits she was a little apprehensive to get the keys to her house and see it for the first time upon completion, but she needn’t have been. The development team was there to greet Gill and her son and give them the grand tour!

“All the staff have been more than helpful from day one and go out of their way to help if there is a problem– they kept me up to date with the progress of my property by sending me texts and pictures. From day one to the moment I opened my front door, I knew I was home! I absolutely love it. Every visitor I’ve had has commented on how light, bright and spacious it is.”

Gill is looking forward to the development welcoming more residents and getting to know more neighbours over time – she says there’s already a real sense of warmth at Landimore Park and that’s before all the homes have been sold to their lucky new owners!

“Gradually new people are moving in and I’m sure we will become even more of a lovely, tight-knit community.

“I’m sure my late husband is looking down with approval both with my decision and my new home – a huge thanks to the team at Tilia Homes for turning a daunting life change into a pleasant and positive experience!”
